Agave syrup is a natural sweetener that is produced from several species of South American cactus.
It boasts an UNUSUALLY LOW GLYCAEMIC INDEX (27) and has practically no effect on blood sugar levels, as it is absorbed into the bloodstream slowly and doesn’t cause blood sugar spikes. This prevents the mobilisation of insulin and all the other negative reactions caused by foods with a high GI index.
It is perfect for diabetics and people who are sensitive to sugar, or who are trying to eliminate it from their diet.
